May 2015 – London, Rome, Lecce, Brindisi

London/Rome/Lecce: April 2016

Tips

London: Eat Indian food at a high end place.

Rome: Go to a little bar that’s done on the honor system – see if you can find it 🙂

Lecce: My great friend, Fra, got married in Lecce, where she grew up.  People were visiting the church Fra and Jer got married in as part of their sightseeing (how lucky to see a wedding!), and Fra’s brothers whisked us off to a castle/vineyard in Brindisi for the reception.  The castle was beautiful.  It had a million rooms, fireplaces going, a lovely grounds, you name it.  The food. Oh, the food.  Two incredibly long tables of every delicious food you can think of – including burrata, an amazing seafood spread, sushi, delicious breads.. oh, the list goes on.  Hold on.  There are 5 more courses coming, eat up.

Post-dinner – of course, there’s a large room filled with desserts.  We walked straight through it to the bar of every drink you can think of, grabbed whiskey, and hit the dance floor.

Oh wait, I forgot about the pre-dinner cocktail hour in a gorgeous wine room with all kinds of cool artifacts.  Amazing.  We obviously partied all night and paid one of the servers to take us to our bnb, grab our suitcases in a hurry, and head straight to the airport.  Bruuutal flight home.
